The FHL trade associations (PASC, ASSC, STAA and others) are continuing to lobby government regarding the proposed abolishment of FHL allowances.
PASCâs iParl petition has currently had over 14,000 responses. You can still use this link to respond to the petition and contact your local MP.
In this interesting article by Bloomberg UK, they have set out a case for needing more, not less holiday homes; using a comparison to some of the Nordic nations where the proportion of holiday homes as a percentage of the population is much higher than the UK.

Edinburgh Council have said that the new rules on short-term rentals is working with the volume of available Airbnb listings having dropped by over 3,000 since 2019
Airbnb have released their travel trends for summer 2024. Itâs no surprise that Paris tops the list for the Olympics however more notably Brighton and Hove is one of the top ten global trending locations. They also highlight the new âplayâ category of properties as getting some attention (properties with a games room, trampoline, etc.)
