VisitEngland have released their latest hotel occupancy levels. Within their report there was an interesting chart showing the room occupancy rate by destination type which shows an increase in occupancy levels in countryside and seaside locations. Is this more of a general movement in guests wanting more of a get away when they travel?

Similar to one of our Resources Directory categories, SuperControl have created an Agency Marketplace where owners can search for and find property Agencies. The marketplace is currently only open to SuperControl customers.

According to statistica, as many people in the UK consume coffee as they do tea. Is it time to up the coffee making facilities you provide?

  • HMRC are starting to enact on the information it is getting from OTAs to clampdown on undeclared income from holiday let hosts. HMRC have opened 2,000 enquiries within 2023/4 - 5 times more than the previous year

  • According to data from VisitScotland, a record number of overseas tourists visited Scotland in 2023, totalling nearly 4 million; 15% more than in 2019

  • Airbnb seems to be having a bit of a cull of their Experiences, with around 5,000 experience operators having been contacted about their Experiences being pulled from the platform. From what we could find out this makes up about 10% of the experiences Airbnb has in total

  • Google’s version of ChatGPT - Gemini now has trip planning capabilities. How long will it be until some of these features make their way to Google Search and incorporate holiday let properties?

  • Legoland in Windsor have recently opened a brand new holiday village consisting of 130 lodges, glamping accommodation as-well as a central clubhouse
